Hello! My name is Kenzie! I am a 25 year old living in the Midwest trying to do my part to help the environment. I have two wonderful kitties and a great partner. I wanted to create a digital diary of sorts to give me some solace in this current time of unrest.

I went to school for Animal Behavior and I am passionate about building peoples empathy towards the environment. I also aim to impact my community in a positive way, and think it is important to always be a curious and empathetic student of the world.

My hobbies include reading, collaging, video games, thrifting, and camping. My favorite animal is the rat but closely followed by the Fossa!! My favorite band is Car Seat Headrest, my favorite movie is the Labrynth, and my favorite book series is Gregor and the Overlanders.

The first rats who came into my life were named Chamomile and Lavender, they were the animals that further opened my eyes to the idea that creatures other than humans had an incredible capacity for cognition and emotion. I think rats resignate with me in such a way because they have such short lives, but such deep and complex personalities. Rats can be sweet, greedy, spiteful, playful, and comferting all in the few years they have on this Earth. Humans have demonized rats for their percieved verminism, but rats prefer a clean and cozy home, its not their fault they've been dealt a life of scrounging for scraps.

Although I can no longer own rats of my own I still click every funny rat video I can, and live vicariously through those. My life has been forever changed by those silly little meowsters, and everything I do from now on will be inspired by the little rats that have touched my heart.

I'm not exactly sure why I felt the need to create a website to commemorate them, but I thought that this was both a goofy and sappy reminder of my little ladies. So this goes out to Lavender, Chamomile, Peppermint, Boba, Chai, Lemongrass, Matcha, Yerba, Willow, Earl Gray, Oolong, and Marshmellow.
